Perhaps you want to get a breath test to confirm the eradication of H pylori before starting PPI again.

Nevertheless, sometimes symptoms can flare up. The frequency of the flare up will gradually decrease when there is no H pylori.

The red color is probably due to rifabutin being excreted from urine. Rifabutin’s original color is red color powder, if I remember correctly. Not too sure about the sweaty part. Everyone experienced slightly different side effect. You may want to watch out your platelet count while having rifabutin.

when you eat very fatty or oily food, your bile can become very active. So perhaps your symptoms is due to your bile.

Although H. pylori doesnt like acid, it has its hiding place in the stomach where there is no acid.

I think we should appreciate the idea that you did not pass the H. pylori to your husband before treatment. The concept of H. pylori is hard to transmit among adults who has good oral hygiene.
