Can H.Pylori cause low grade fever (37.5)?

Post by new_sufferer » Fri Jul 19, 2019 7:36 pm

Hello,
I am newly diagnosed with H.Pylori through blood tests and I was referred because I am feeling this on and off nausea in my stomach that comes and goes which affects also my appetite. However, this is accompanied with a low grade fever of max 37.5 raising in the afternoons/evenings and going down in the morning. I wanted to know is this a reaction because of H.Pylori?

P.S: I have not started my medications yet.

Thank you in advance

Good question. H. pylori does causes inflammation and probably that may lead to temperature rise. However, I am not sure if the temperature raise has any clinical significance.

I dont believe any body temperature is enough to kill of H. pylori in vivo. Otherwise, there wont be so many people in the world that is infected with H. pylori.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. What do you mean by "clinical significance"?

"clinical significance" means.. "not clinically meaningful" or "not a problem a doctor would consider threatening" or "you dont need to worry about".
